Obituary

Wallace S. Oshiro of Bedford passed away on April 23, 2021, at the age of 90. He was born on April 22, 1931, to the late Kana Arakawa and Kama Oshiro, of HI. Raised on a farm in Maui, he then served in the Korean War and earned a college degree at Loyola University in Chicago. He became a highly respected Federal Agent for the US Treasury Department. He was also a second degree black belt in Aikido. After a long career in Chicago, he moved to Bedford with his wife Sarah, where they lovingly babysat their two grandsons, bringing them to construction sites, train stations, playgrounds, beaches and fun restaurants, as well as chauffeuring them to their various activities. He was a vital and quiet force, his favorite hobbies including fishing, swimming at the Bedford VA pool and talking with his VA buddies, tai chi, road trips, reading the New York Times cover to cover, and dabbling in stocks. He will be greatly missed, especially for his steadfastness, dependability, political analyses and great sense of humor! His survivors include two daughters, Terri Oshiro of Bedford and Dana Oshiro and her husband Will Leavitt, of Lexington, as well as two grandsons, Cole Oshiro-Leavitt and Clay Oshiro-Leavitt, siblings living in HI and nieces and nephews. Burial will be in National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl Crater, Honolulu, Hawaii.
