Steven Anthony Ricci (Steve) 61, of Lexington and Somerville, passed away on August 31, 2026.

Born in Cambridge in 1965, to Anthony (Tony) Ricci and Susan Ricci, he grew up in Somerville and later Lexington, graduating from Lexington High class of 1983. In high school, he became involved in photography of many styles, something that became a lifelong hobby, with several family members enjoying framed landscape photos taken by him.

As a youth in Scouts and at the local recreation center, he developed an interest in target sport shooting, becoming a distinguished expert, and creating good sportsmanship, friendship, and a traditional quiet concentration in this endeavor. History was also a passion, and growing up in the birthplace of America, he joined the historical recreated British 10th Regiment of Foot, with which he participated in reenactments including the Battle of Fort Ticonderoga, and numerous times in the Battle of Lexington.

He also found interest in the early computer sciences, which later became his major field of profession, developing from his university business and accounting studies. Steven took pride in continued learning, achieving several degrees, including a Bachelor’s from Bentley College and a Master’s from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, among many other certifications and advanced programs.

His work included several partnerships with friends and family, as well as well-known organizations such as State Street Bank, where he worked during the historical Y2K turnover challenges.

His roles in business afforded him the ability to visit many parts of the world, favoring the warmer climates, and having extended stays in Australia, and Florida, specifically Key West.

He could be always counted on to help family and friends with computer operations, sometimes with an overabundance of improvements for a layperson, but always to a success. His mother Susan often asking him, “What do I do with some of these extras?”

In recent years, he last resided back in Somerville, MA, enjoying the access to the amenities of city life, favoring the MBTA, and enjoying walking among the squares.

He leaves his father, Anthony, a Professional Structural Engineer with whom he developed a personal communication level because of his computer engineering field, and Anthony’s partner, Linda Lyster; his mother Susan (Onset, MA), who was a Realtor, who he helped update her work listings; his younger brother Peter and his wife Becky; Niece Jo, Nephew Quinn (Bedford, MA) and many cousins, including Mary Rose Nice-Hodorawis (Somerville) as well as extended family in Maine and around the country.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours and a service in Shawsheen Funeral Home on Monday, September 14, 2026 from 4 – 6 pm. Immediately following, there will be a repast at American Legion Post 221, 357 The Great Road, Bedford, MA. A private burial will take place at a later date.
