Martha C. King of Watertown and formerly of Bedford passed away on Oct. 13, 2021.
Born June 28, 1957 in Redwood City CA, Martha graduated from Bedford High School in 1975 and attended Gordon College in Wenham and Boston University School of Nursing, where she graduated in 1983.
Martha was a long-time nurse in the cardiovascular program at Children's Hospital in Boston. After working in the cardiac ICU for many years, Martha worked in the cardiac clinic where she was passionate about working with patients with Marfan Syndrome, and was the general "go-to" person for the nurses for any question that arose. After 32 years, and due to cancer, Martha retired from BCH in 2018.
Martha will be remembered for her humor, her fondness for tea (and all things British), her love of spending time at the Cape, travel, her love of animals (especially her cats), gardening, blue-grass music, her love of family, her devotion to the patients of the cardiology program and for being a loyal friend to her colleagues.
Martha is survived by her husband Jeff Bryant of Watertown; brother Peter King and his wife Diane of Block Island, RI; and brother Andrew King of Templeton, MA.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in memory of Martha King to support Dr. Ursula Matulonis's Gynecologic cancer research fund at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284 or http://danafarber.jimmyfund.org/site/TR?fr_id=1200&pg=team&team_id=6811
