Lucy E. (Galloway) Barnes, of Leominster and formerly of Lexington, died on April 11, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late Gary W. Barnes. Loving mother of Jessica Barnes of Greenfield, Chris Barnes and his wife Christine of Lynnfield, and Amanda Wright and her husband Matthew of Lunenburg. Loving grandmother of Billy Barnes, Bennett Wright, Samuel Wright, Emily Barnes, and Andrew Barnes. Sister of Nancy Drohan, Harvey Galloway, and Andrew Galloway. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Lucy was born on October 16, 1950, to the late Raymond and Nellie (Webster) Galloway in Wilton, NH, where she grew up. She graduated from Gordon College where she met Gary Barnes, the love of her life. Lucy was sweet and very funny, always quick to make a joke. She loved her family and was a devoted mother and grandmother. One of her great passions was music, she was a piano teacher for many years and enjoyed connecting with her students. She loved knitting and was proud to provide hats and mittens for her grandchildren and those less fortunate. Lucy was an avid Red Sox fan, and her favorite musicians were The Beatles and Billy Idol. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lucy's memory to Music Unites (musicunites.org) are appreciated. Due to the necessary physical distancing restrictions of COVID-19, funeral services were private. Burial was in Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
