Lawrence Richard Proulx, age 90, passed away on February 25, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Born June 11, 1931, Larry was raised in north Cambridge, the son of the late Robert R. Proulx and Deliah Proulx. Larry graduated from Ringe Tech High School in Cambridge in the class of 1947. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Airforce and spent four years serving overseas before being stationed in Great Falls, Montana. It was there that he met his wife of 66 years, Antonia (Toni), a Filipino nurse. They settled in Bedford and raised their two children. Larry was an entrepreneur and started several businesses in Bedford. He founded Bedford Tool Rental in 1971, later changing the name to BT & E Utility Products when his son joined the business. They worked together for more than 30 years. Larry and Toni were fortunate to be able to travel to many places around the world. Larry and his family loved boating and fishing, especially overnight trips to Martha's Vineyard to catch the Big One. He built a home with his family in Mashpee in the 1970's to which he later retired. Larry, a quiet man loved by all, leaves a hole in our hearts. We will miss him dearly. In addition to his wife Toni, he leaves a daughter Laurie J. Proulx of Littleton, son and daughter-in-law, Richard G. Proulx and Cara Proulx, and four grandchildren, Trevor, Taylor, Tristan, and Melanie of Bedford and Mashpee. He is predeceased by his sister Lorraine. Visiting hours will be held in Shawsheen Funeral Home on Friday, March 4, 2022 4pm to 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Michael's Church, 90 Concord Road, Bedford on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 10am. Burial to follow in Shawsheen Cemetery, Bedford. Family and friends are invited.
