Known for her tireless commitment to environmental remediation and occupational health, Kristina leaves behind a legacy of passion, service, and scientific excellence.

Born and raised in Bedford, Massachusetts, Kristina graduated from Bedford High School in 2013, where she was a leader in the marching band, a varsity swimmer, and a member of the National Honor Society. She earned her degree with honors in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the College of the Holy Cross in 2017, where she completed her thesis in evolutionary biology. Kristina was an environmental scientist at Carriage House Consulting, Cooperstown Environmental LLC, and Embree, LLC, where she specialized in site remediation, hazardous waste assessment, and environmental sampling, advising on environmental and occupational health issues.

Her fieldwork spanned multiple states and continents, including leading soil and groundwater investigations, coordinating EPA-compliant cleanup operations, and producing detailed technical reports. She also participated in a National Geographic expedition in Mauritius and worked as a divemaster in Thailand, combining scientific inquiry with a deep love of the natural world.

Kristina was also a dedicated volunteer, serving in wildlife clinics, tutoring programs in both English and Spanish, and environmental education. She lived with compassion, curiosity, and courage.

Kristina Washer's life was marked by service, scientific rigor, and an unwavering commitment to making the world cleaner, healthier, and more just. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, colleagues, and the global environmental and diving communities.

Kristina is survived by her grandfather, James F. Comley; parents, Clifford & Carol Washer; and brothers, C. Alexander Washer (his wife Stefany Ornelas Washer) of North Hollywood, CA, and James G.
