Judith Ann (Goodrich) Smart of Bedford, age 82, beloved wife of Richard for over 62 years, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2018 surrounded by her loved ones after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Judy will be lovingly remembered by her children Karen (Daniel), Glenn (Diana) and Andrew (Karen). Judy also will be fondly remembered by her six grandchildren, Sheena (Sean), Ryan (Joanna), Anthony, Aaron, Leo and Maggi; her great-grandchildren, Sienna and Colton; and by her beloved sister Marcia. Judy will also be forever remembered by her nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends. Judy was born in Dalton, Massachusetts on August 7, 1935 to proud parents Kenneth and Marguerite Goodrich. Judy was an honor graduate of Dalton High School with the class of 1953. On September 29th 1956, she was united in marriage to Richard K. Smart in Dalton, MA. In 1957 they moved to Bedford where they happily lived for 45 years and raised their family. Judy worked at Raytheon for many decades as an administrative secretary where she was known for her impeccable short-hand skills and for her exceptional fashion sense. In her spare time Judy enjoyed crafts, sewing, baking, going for walks, rooting on her grandchildren during sporting events, helping out with her church and simply spending time with her friends, family and children. Judy also loved traveling with her husband, family and friends to some of her favorite places in Saint Maarten, Florida and Maine. Judy will be missed by so many but her legacy will undoubtedly continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, great children and many generations to come. A Memorial Service celebrating Richard and Judy's lives and love will be held May 12th, 2018, 155 Concord Road, Bedford at the First Baptist Church at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Shawsheen Cemetery.
