Joseph "Joe" Francis Dixon, age 84 of Bedford, formerly of Lawrence, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2022. He is now at rest with his beloved late wife of 63 years Helen (Pilch) Dixon. Joe is the cherished father of three children: Kelly Knight and husband David of Woburn, Kim Keane and husband Jim of North Attleboro, and Joseph Dixon and wife Rebecca of Gorham, Maine. He was the adoring "Pops" of seven grandchildren: David, Christopher, and Katy Knight; James and Michael Keane; and Gretchen and Finn Dixon. Doting great grandfather of Kennedy Rose Knight. Joe was a proud graduate of Central Catholic and Lowell Tech (later serving on UMass Lowell Board), and UNH. He enjoyed traveling the world with his family as a USAF Officer and competing in the VA Golden Age Games after retiring. He also enjoyed summers at Salisbury and Turkey Shoots at Bedford's American Legion. In addition to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchild, Joe is survived by his beloved sister Irene V. Dixon of Lawrence and many esteemed nieces and nephews. He is the beloved son of the late Joseph and Irene (Duffy) Dixon of Lawrence. A Funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Michael's Church in Bedford on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. at 11am. Burial with Military Honors followed in Shawsheen Cemetery, Bedford.
