Joan M. Whitley, of Bedford, born May 12 ^th 1944 in Cambridge, died August 30 ^th , 2018 at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Burlington after a long struggle with cancer. Joan was an artist and interior decorator with training in archiecture. Joan was a graduate of Bedford High School and received her Bachelors degree at Olivet College in Michigan. Joan continued her education and is a graduate of Mass College of Art. She is the daughter of the late Frederick and Margaret Whitley of Bedford. She is survived by her two brothers, Greg Whitley of Bedford and Richard Whitley and his wife Mabel of Front Royal, VA. Joan was a member of  Grace Chapel in Lexington. Burial on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 1pm in Shawsheen Cemetery, Bedford. Family and friends are invited.
