Jared Kinsman Patterson was born on January 10, 2000 to Jeff Patterson and Heather (Urquhart) Patterson. Jared passed away on January 24, 2020, having just turned 20 years old. Jared was raised in Bedford alongside his sisters, Madison and Paige, and graduated from Bedford High School. His large and loving family includes his grandparents Ewen and Mary Jane Urquhart, who are long-time Bedford residents, and the late Frank and Julia Patterson, also long-time Bedford residents. Jared has 23 aunts and uncles, 29 first cousins and his beloved dog Rocky, all of whom will miss him deeply. Jared's family will remember him as someone with a wonderful sense of humor, a contagious laugh and a brilliant smile. He loved to try new things and having recently spent time in Singapore, Cambodia and Vietnam, he was excited about seeing more of the world. Jared was a great son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend to many. He had a genuine sense of himself and lived by the beat of his own drum, always looking with open arms to help the underdog. Jared also had a special way with animals; they seemed to understand his innate kindness and spirit. The Patterson and Urquhart families are grateful for the outpouring of support during this time; it is a testament to the way Jared touched people's lives. Visiting hours were held in Shawsheen Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 29, 2020. A Funeral Service was held on Thursday, January 30, 2020 in the Newton Presbyterian Church in Newton, MA. Burial followed in Shawsheen Cemetery, Bedford.
