Gary Sharpe of Bedford was born in Lynn, MA and spent most of his life there. He was a Vietnam War veteran, serving in the US Army 1968-1972. He attended Gordon College in Wenham, MA and received a BA in Biblical Studies and met his first wife, Valerie M, who passed away in a car accident in 1979. A 2nd marriage to Diane G. of Lynn (1981-1998) produced three children.

In June 2023, Gary moved to Bedford. He succumbed to lung cancer at home on February 8, 2024.

He is pre-deceased by his daughter, Melinda. He is survived by his children: Bethany, Carissa, and Timothy; and by grandchildren: Alexandra, Aliyah, Anthony, Natalie, Levi, and Eve Marie.

He was buried in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon, MA, on Monday February, 12, 2024. Requiem in Aeternam
