Edward J. Sicotte of Briny Breezes, Florida and formerly of Waltham and Mashpee, passed away on June 3, 2022. He was 98 years old and the beloved husband of the late Mary (Whitehead, O'Toole) Sicotte.
He was born in Waltham on March 2, 1924 to the late Mary (Rodier) and John Sicotte. Mr. Sicotte served in World War II and the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force earning the rank of Major.
He started as a Patrolman on the Waltham Police Force in 1949, earned a Bachelor's Degree at Northeastern University, and ascended through the ranks to become Waltham's Chief of Police in 1971. He retired in 1982 after 33 years of service and lived in Mashpee on the Cape and wintered in Florida, serving as Briny Breeze's Shuffleboard President for 20 years.
He leaves his daughters, Sandy Baker of Bedford and Patricia Gori of Mashpee. He also leaves grandchildren, Michele Mann and her spouse Cliff, Amy Dillen and her spouse Dave, Kristie Connolly, and Richard Gori and his spouse Halley. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren; a very special niece, Helen Brandshaft; and many more nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his brothers, Leo, Lawrence, and Ernest and sisters, Irene, Therese, and Estelle.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 in Christ the King Parish, 5 Jobs Fishing Road, Mashpee, MA 02649 at 11am. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Avenue, Bourne, MA 02532 at 1:30pm. Family and friends invited.
