Doris Marie (Girard) McManus, age 89 of Burlington and formerly of Bedford, passed away July 15, 2020 with her family at her side. She was married to the late Arthur L. McManus Sr. for 65 years. She is survived by Lisa McManus and her partner Rosanne Sliney, Peter McManus, Thomas McManus, Timothy McManus and his wife Wendy, Mary-Jo Bereszniewicz and her husband Ron and Arthur L McManus Jr. and his wife Deborah. Cherished Mimi of Sean, Ryan, and TJ McManus, Billy and Casey Bereszniewicz, Brittney McManus, AJ, Jack, Meghan McManus, Sarah and Adam Collins. Great-grandmother of Braelyn, Camdyn, and Finn. She is also survived by her sister Gloria Lundy and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Her brothers, Raymond, Joseph, Donald, Ernest, Valmore, and Lionel Girard and sisters, Beatrice LeBouf, Lucille Letourneau, Marie Paul Lavin, Julie Lamontagne, Lillian Girard, Theresa Gusha, and Gertrude Girard all predeceased her. Mrs. McManus was born in Worcester on May 28, 1931, the daughter of the late Adelia (Laliberte) and Hormidas Girard. Spending time with her family and friends is what always mattered to her most, especially playing cards and spending time with her family outside in the sun by the pool. While raising her children in Bedford she worked as an elementary teachers' aide. In her later years she spent winters down in Venice, Fl with her husband Arthur. They loved playing golf, going to the beach and biking to downtown Venice. Doris was a strong, resilient and passionate person who enjoyed life to the fullest, with her love of wine. A Funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Michael's Church on Thursday, July 23, 2020. Burial followed in Shawsheen Cemetery, Bedford. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Doris McManus to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, (stjude.org)
