Chester "Chet"
Wiggins

Shawsheen Funeral Home
4:00 - 8:00 pm (Eastern time)
Chester "Chet" Benjamin Wiggins, Sr. 84, of Bedford, Massachusetts, husband of the late Jane Wiggins, passed away on Friday, September 24, 2026 in Cape Neddick, Maine.
Born in Boston on August 12, 1942, Chet was the son of the late Benjamin Wiggins and Monica (Kaminsky) Wiggins. He was a lifelong resident of Bedford, where he built a life rooted in service, family, and the outdoors he loved so deeply.
He proudly served with the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Following his military service, he returned home and began a long career with the Bedford Department of Public Works, working as a foreman in the sewer department. His dedication to the town was evident in his decades of hard work and reliability. After retiring in the 1990s, Chet found joy in a new chapter as a Bedford school bus driver, often driving the Ski Club to Wachusett Mountain during the winter months.
An avid outdoorsman, Chet was happiest with a fishing rod in hand. Summers were spent at Cape Neddick Campground in Maine, where he fished nearly every day and formed lasting friendships with fellow campers. Each fall, he traveled to Pulaski, New York, where salmon fishing became a cherished tradition.
But Chet wasn't just a fisherman - he was a builder, a fixer, and a tinkerer at heart. Whether crafting his own fishing lures, repairing a lawnmower, or working on his beloved Boston Whaler and its engine, he was always elbows-deep in a project.
Chet is survived by his children: Christine Davis of Panama Beach, FL; Chester Wiggins and his wife Jessica Wiggins of Bedford; and Daniel Wiggins and his wife Michele of Carlisle. He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Trinity, Logan, Camden, and Denali Davis; Madison, Benjamin, and Mason Wiggins; Travis Gray and Annabella, Hunter and Hayden Wiggins.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Visiting hours will be held in Shawsheen Funeral Home on Monday, October 5, 2026 from 4pm to 8pm. Family and friends are invited.
Burial is private.
