Barbara Molineux Mix, 93, of Lexington, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, in Bedford, Massachusetts.
She is survived by her loving husband William F. Mix Jr. of Lexington; her stepdaughter Marsha Mix Barnes and son-in-law, James Barnes of Duxbury; and her treasured grandchildren, Jillian, Gabrielle, and Caleb.
Born in Boston, Barbara was the beloved daughter of the late Walter P. Molineux and Hilda Brown Molineux of Lexington. She was the loving wife to the late Robert L. Christensen who died in 1969. She then married William F. Mix in 1974.
Barbara dedicated 35 years of her life to a rewarding career as a medical secretary, where she was admired for her warmth, diligence, and integrity.
She was also a vibrant member of the community. Barbara served as past Chair of the Morning Study Group of the Lexington Field and Garden Club, and took joy in gardening, skiing, and water aerobics. She especially loved taking part in the annual Patriots' Day reenactments of the Battle of Lexington, celebrating local history with pride and enthusiasm.
Barbara touched the lives of many through her kindness, humility, and quiet strength. Her memory will be forever cherished.
A Memorial Service for Barbara was held on September 21, 2025 in the Hancock United Church of Christ in Lexington, MA.
