Armand L. “Pete” Malo of Concord, Massachusetts passed away on September 15, 2026. He was 97 years old.

Pete and his wife of 64 years Mary (Esterline) Malo formerly resided in Bedford, Massachusetts for many years while Pete was employed at Hanscom Air Force Base nearby.

He is mourned by his wife Mary and his niece Meredith Malo of Barrington, New Hampshire. He is also survived by a niece, Judith M. Eitler of Lee, New Hampshire. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his older brother, Urbain J.H. Malo of Dover, New Hampshire as well as two nephews. 

Pete was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on April 28, 1929, to the late Adelard and Antoinette (Morin) Malo. Pete served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1955, seeing action in South Korea; he separated from the service as a First Lieutenant. 

Pete received a B.S. in chemistry from the University of Rhode Island and worked as an engineer at Hanscom Air Force Base until his retirement. Early in his employment by the Air Force, Pete was assigned to a U.S. Base in Torrejon, Spain, and he and Mary enjoyed life in Madrid for almost ten years. They traveled throughout Europe during their stay in Spain, and in later years enjoyed traveling worldwide. Both huge fans of Boston sports, Pete and Mary could often be found avidly watching all broadcasts of the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, and Bruins.

In 2017, they moved to Newbury Court in Concord, MA where they continued residing until Pete’s passing.

A Memorial Service will be held in Duvall Chapel, 80 Deaconess Road, Concord, MA on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at 2pm. Interment of cremains will take place privately in Shawsheen Cemetery, Bedford, MA.
